Plan your business in advanced and save time and to grow your side hustle while you sleep.
Now that we’ve introduced your topic with a short and catchy title, it’s time to write your introductory paragraph. This is your chance to grab your reader’s attention. You can explain why you are the best person to give advice on this topic; share a personal story that reflects your own experience on the subject; and/or highlight common mistakes that can be avoided once applying your useful tips.
Before listing your tips below, add one last sentence that sums up your paragraph or offers a smooth transition to your listicle.
#1 - Get Clear on Your Target Market
Without a market of customers to buy your product or service there is no business, no side hustle and no extra income. As business owners the most important group of people to focus on and give you attention to is your target market. The group of people make your business real by purchasing your products or services.
Have you ever heard of the person who says, "Everyone is my target market, I offer (products/services) that everyone can buy." I am sorry to be the one to let you down but "everyone" is not a target market. Think about, "everyone" is not a target, its very broad and not specific at all. Targets are narrow, small and very specific.
What is a target market?
A target market is a group of people who a business directs its marketing and advertising efforts to. This group serves as the main audience who are more than likely to purchase from your business or has a need that your business can solve. Knowing exactly who your target market places you in a better position to speak their language, get their attention, and successfully sell to them and most importantly saves you time from marketing to "everyone".
#2 - Prepare a Marketing Calendar
One of my favorite quotes is "preparation meets opportunity," and this quote has proved true to me many times over the years. I've learned if you have a plan ahead of time, the chances of you taking successful action are higher when there is a plan in advanced.
"Failing to plan is a plan of failure." - Anonymous
A marketing calendar is a tool business owners use to plan marketing activities and future social media post ahead of time. The calendar is used to know ahead of time how and when you plan to market your audience. A few things to include when creating your marketing calendar social media platforms to use, promotional offer, post content, holidays, launch/target dates and any other aspect that impacts your business,
Tip #3 - Automate
Automation is one of my personal favorites! With there being so many digital advances in the world today the concept of automation has become a lot easier to prepare, manage and schedule.
What exactly is automation?
It is the process in which human effort is minimized through the output of digital content automatically. In most cases automation involves pre-scheduling content such as social media post, emails, social media ads, or any digital aspect of advertising.
The most common types of automation are used for social media post, ads and email marketing. With so many software's and apps available for prescheduling post content it has been extremely easy to plan ahead and maintain a consistent social media presence while you are off focusing on other tasks.
How does automation work? It all begins with the "content", once the content is created it can be organized into a weekly or daily regimen of delivery to your target market. Take some time to develop your content to share, and determine when you will share the content. It may even be helpful to plan out your content according to monthly, weekly, daily topics, appealing to your audience in a structured way to entice interest or even sales.
There are many tools (companies) available for prescheduling content. Not only can you use an independent companies software or app for prescheduling content but you can preschedule content on your own using the "Schedule Later" option in social media posting.
Try out the different options that are available and use what works best for your planning.
Tip #4 - Repurpose Content
Let's be honest, creating content can sometimes be a a big pain in the you know what! It is for me. There are times you've created really good content and times you've created not so good content. Don't let your really good content go to waste! Repurpose it! Once you've found that a piece of content is a hit with your market, your next step is to MILK IT, MILK IT BABY! That's right, keep it going and give the people more of what they love.
What is repurposed content? Previously used content (social media post, video, podcast, tiktok, blog, etc) used again but in a slightly different way to appeal to your audience. One single piece of long-form content can be repurposed to at least 10 different pieces of content.
How do you repurpose content? Lets take a blog post for example. One blog can be repurposed into 5 quotes, 4 Facebook / Instagram post, 2 YouTube videos, 3 tiktoks and 2 emails. The longer the original piece of content, the more it can be broken down and repurposed. Smaller pieces of content can be repurposed as well. It may not produce as many pieces of content as a blog would however, you can definitely get at least 3 pieces of content from one original piece content.
Grow your business and spend less time doing it!
In the year 2022 growing a business and saving time doing so has becoming increasingly easy with the digital software's and apps emerging. Take some time to understand your target market and ways to appeal to them. Plan ahead, post ahead and watch your business grow with less action and more planning.
